State Organization
The state of Guanajuato boosts competitiveness in its municipalities through regulatory improvement. This strategy aims to simplify processes, reduce costs, and ensure the proper functioning of institutions, which facilitates the development of commercial, industrial, and service activities in the region.
The current digital platform requires a complete transformation to adapt to the state’s technological needs. The goal of this project is to update the infrastructure and create a more agile, secure, and scalable system, with new functionalities that respond to these demands.
With the support of Cloudgenia, modern practices such as DevOps were implemented to enhance the development of new modules and ensure the security of sensitive data. Additionally, access control and governance mechanisms will be established to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information, integrating advanced technological solutions tailored to the state’s needs.

Why the Customer Chose the partner
MAIN
Customer Challenge
The main challenge of this project was the transition from a legacy platform to a new digital infrastructure, which involved data migration, the integration of new modules, and the restructuring of existing functionalities. The most significant challenges were as follows:
- Scalability and Reliability: The new platform had to be capable of handling a growing user load while ensuring consistent and stable performance.
- Information Security: Since the platform would manage sensitive data, it was crucial to implement strict measures to protect the information and comply with privacy regulations.
- DevOps Integration: Implementing agile DevOps practices in an environment that previously lacked these methodologies presented a challenge in terms of automation and workflow improvement.
- Integration with Existing Systems: The new platform needed to seamlessly communicate with local systems that manage services such as electronic payments and internal communications, which required precise and secure integration.
Why
Amazon Web Services
The choice of AWS as the technological platform for the solution was based on several key advantages that this platform offers:
- Scalability and Elasticity: AWS allows resources to be automatically adjusted according to demand, ensuring the platform can handle traffic spikes and a growing user base without issues.
- Security: AWS provides advanced tools to protect sensitive information, such as AWS Secrets Manager for secret management and AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) to prevent external threats.
- Reliability: AWS’s global infrastructure ensures high availability and disaster recovery, which is essential for maintaining service continuity without interruptions.
- Automation and DevOps: AWS offers tools like CodePipeline and CodeBuild, which facilitate the automation of deployment processes, ensuring that updates and improvements are implemented quickly and in a controlled manner.
- Cost Reduction: By using AWS, the costs associated with managing physical infrastructure are eliminated, and the investment in CAPEX (capital expenditures) is reduced, favoring an OPEX (operational expenditures) model that allows for savings and long-term cost optimization.

Results and Benefits
The shift to AWS-based infrastructure has produced very positive results both operationally and in terms of system efficiency. Some of the most notable benefits include:
- Optimized Infrastructure Management: The time spent by the IT team managing infrastructure was reduced by 15%, thanks to the automation of processes such as the creation of QA and development environments using CloudFormation.
- Reduced Deployment Times: The time to move from a QA environment to production was reduced from 8 hours to a maximum of 1.5 hours, significantly improving delivery times.
- Improved Code Deployments: The time to release new software versions into production was reduced from 12 hours to just 1 hour, thanks to automation and continuous integration tools provided by AWS.
- Reduced Operational Costs: A nearly 50% reduction in costs compared to on-premise infrastructure was achieved, thanks to AWS‘s pay-as-you-go model and the implementation of cost-saving plans such as EC2 and ECS.
- Greater Stability: Previously, the platform experienced downtime due to demand spikes; however, with the new cloud-based architecture, the platform can now handle traffic surges effectively.
